sardinia diary: dinner on a boat in cagliari
if you ever find yourself in cagliari, you must seek out this ristorante and bar in the marina area which is so unpretentious that it does not even have a name. but the food is absoultely delicious and the setting is rather unusual - the restaurant is literally inside a boat! the owner, a tubby sardinian, was quite a character.
we had a fabulous dinner buffet for €25 each. there were plenty of antipasti to choose from, a primo of pasta and then lots of seafood for the main course. i wasn't particularly hungry so i had a simple meal of grilled peppers marinated in olive oil, spaghetti con pomodoro sprinkled with oregano and a few slices of juicy watermelon.

thanks, appa. we must go to italy together. i think you will really enjoy it. and vegetarian food is not a problem at all but you've got to like garlic :)
